Hiking hours: 7 days, Sunrise – Dusk (excluding inclement weather, which includes severe heat). During the long, hot summer days, hike tours may be limited due to the extreme high desert heat. Call for schedules & rates of a) special sunrise breakfast/sunset dinner and b) private guided hikes.
If you are in a hurry for a great workout or just want to climb to the top of the peak (climb approx. 1,300 feet.) One hour up, and another hour down! Experience a SPECTACULAR 360 degree view of the Valley of the Sun! This special rate is only $45 per person plus $30 roundtrip transportation to/from most hotel properties. The goal of Hike In Phoenix, LLC, is to make your guided hiking tour the very best and most memorable activity. Wherever you may be in the Valley of the Sun, we’ll recommend the nearest and best trail suited for your specific experience and stamina (often referred to as difficulty level). But don’t worry about any experience because there is a guided hike for everyone. All you need is the desire for a great day with nature and the outdoors.
Kids not yet 12 are free w/each full fare adult! Teenagers 13 – 17, Seniors 55+ receive 20% off all guided hiking tours except “Climb to The Peak.”
If you wish to use our transportation service, there will be an additional $30 per person or $40 round trip with 2-4 in the same group/same pick up point.
MODERATELY CHALLENGING GUIDED HIKE (a quick 2-3 hours) “Climb to The Peak” $45 per person Our one way and back along the summit trail is strongly recommended for more moderate to experienced hikers with good physical balance. Continuous climbing is required. When we finally reach the top you will be so happy and proud that you’ve achieved your goal. This hike takes us through rugged sandstone cliffs, a 360-degree panoramic view from the top, and the chance to see a perfect sunset. This hike is a must-do. Up and down is about 2 to 3 miles (depending on the trail). This tour takes under 3 hours to complete. The desert trivia game played while hiking is so much fun for everyone! Refreshments/snacks are provided. Take home a souvenir cap! There are no discounts for this guided tour.
HALF DAY GUIDED HIKE (between 3 and 5 hours depending on trails) as well as your preference. Both Beginner and Moderation trails have the same rate: $99 per person; $90 for two; $76 for three or more on the same reservation.
MODERATION GUIDED HIKE This adventure takes you to new heights where you’ll explore, experience and enjoy a loop of 3 or more hours, varying 3 to 5 miles in length. You will learn about a variety of desert flora and of many another inhabitants found in the Sonoran Desert. And what a great view of the Valley you’ll see! Playing our desert trivia game is fun and will test your knowledge of the desert. Refreshments/snacks will be provided. Take a souvenir cap home with you, included!
BEGINNER GUIDED HIKE Together we’ll choose trails that best fit your tastes, ability and stamina. Some trails have magnificent city views. Others will lead us towards peace and serenity. You’ll never even think that we are all still in the City! Some trails offer both! While you and your experienced guide make periodic rest stops, you’ll learn a lot about the desert inhabitants from playing our great trail trivia game. Many trails have interpretive signs displayed telling of the variety of flora and fauna for your educational enjoyment. Refreshments/snacks are provided as is a free souvenir cap to take home.
CUSTOMIZED HIKES can be arranged for Team Building/Corporate outings and Family fun days. Sunrise/sunset, hikes with lunch, picnic style, is a great, memorable experience in the Sonoran Desert outdoors. Transportation extra. Rates for customized guided hikes vary by length of time and trail, trail used, and whether you selected our meal option and the number of people in your party. This type of reservation is available by telephone only. Specifics are available from our reservations specialists at 877 HIKE-PHX (877 445-3749) or from international locations, 516 799-2273. PAYMENT METHODS: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or by mail via Bank Money Order or Cashier’s Check accepted. Mailed in payments must arrive ten days prior to your scheduled hike date. (Any information given by you for booking guided hike tours will not be used for any other purpose than to secure your reservation & payment and for us to communicate with you regarding your hike and experience.)
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED/REFUNDS: No fun, no pay! Refunds will be given. However, fees for the use of our hotel to trail transportation and special packages are excluded. For whatever reason why you may not be happy with our service and wish to get a refund, please notify your guide immediately at the end of the hike. You must also call our office to confirm this notification the same day as your hike. Please make certain that you let the office know the name of your hike guide, along with the date/day & time of the scheduled hike. Allow up to 72 hours for a check to be issued. It will be mailed to the address on your reservation. Please keep your Hike In Phoenix cap as a token of our appreciation for giving our hiking service a try.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If you want to cancel your reservation(s), you must call our office immediately because certain cancellation fees may apply.* Cancellation Fee Schedule: 50% if less than 24 hours on the guided hike fee. There is no cancellation fee for the transportation component before 24 hours. If you cancel with less than 24 hours, a 50% transportation cancellation fee will also be assessed if you originally reserved with transportation.
*In the event of inclement weather (which may include severe heat), you have the option of receiving a full refund or rescheduling the hike for another day. Allow up to 72 hours for a full refund to be mailed by check. Hike In Phoenix will cancel the schedule hike if inclement weather occurs. You will be notified by telephone or e-mail. In this situation extremely important to advise us of your cell phone number or that of a friend, family member or someone else in your group. Keep that cell phone turned on all night. You will be asked to read and sign our Liability/Waiver Agreement and Desert Safety tips/Trail Etiquette form prior to the hiking tour. Always follow your leader. Stay on the trail at all times. It’s the law!
IMPORTANT NOTE: During the long summer days, hike tours may be limited due to the extreme high desert heat. For your safety, hikes are scheduled from sunrise through 11AM and again from 6PM to dusk.
